Miranda Wakefield grew up in Yamba, a town of just 7000 people in northern NSW. Miranda is the first of her family to ever finish year 12.

A message from Professor David Wilkinson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Corporate Engagement and Advancement

Help to change lives. You can do this today with a gift of any amount.

Macquarie University is a great place to learn, but some students need additional support to even consider enrolling, and others, once enrolled, to get the most from their university experience.

With your support, we can create access to a university education for deserving, talented individuals who might otherwise miss out through circumstances that are no fault of their own. And everyone benefits. The students - who gain a tertiary qualification that will change their lives. The Macquarie University community - through the satisfaction from giving back. And the whole nation - through increasing our university educated population.

Macquarie University calls on you, our alumni, to help students in need of financial aid. You can help disadvantaged students to meet their education and living expenses while at Macquarie and ultimately, to reach their full potential by donating to one of the following:

Macquarie offers a number of equity-based scholarships to support students whose opportunities to study at university have been hampered by situations beyond their control.

Besides financial need other areas of focus are:

Capacity to triumph over hardship;

  • Carer responsibilities;
  • Geographic Disadvantage;
  • Non English speaking background;
  • Long term medical condition or
  • Ongoing effects of abuse.

Equity scholarships include:
